Any restrictions might mean you require planning permission rather than carrying out your garage conversion under permitted development. Always check this with your local council. Always remember before work commences to obtain and submit a Building Notice to your local council or private building control company (costs usually average around £324) so that the building inspector can over see the garage conversion to check issues such as ventilation, damp proofing, insulation, fireproofing and structural soundness.
